Robert Brooksher was born a Navy dependent in 1952 and spent most of his childhood in Kansas and Pennsylvania. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in Kansas and was drafted into the Army in the early 1970’s. He spent his enlistment at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Upon returning home, Robert attended Pittsburg State University and received his certifications in welding. Also during that time his children, Miranda and Joshua, were born. In 1978 Robert moved his family to the Phoenix area to pursue greater opportunities where he continued to work full time and attend college for electrical engineering. Robert and his family were integral members of the founding families of Ballet Etudes, which brought him the chance to pursue his longstanding love of pyrotechnics. He has since received both his state and federal licenses, and continues to produce both stage and fireworks shows, from small gatherings to major events and city-wide 4th of July and New Year’s pyrotechnic shows. Robert is currently the Facilities Manager for Compound Photonics and Brooksher Ballet, and provides all of the explosions and on-stage booms!
