Elizabeth Brooksher’s love of ballet began while watching her daughter, in her weekly class, who was soon joined by her son, Joshua. Providing her children opportunities not available to her was very important, and so she worked as a volunteer for the Jeanne’s School of Dance, where they were enrolled. Elizabeth was a founding board of directors for Ballet Etudes, at the time the first youth ballet organization in the Phoenix area. She then went on to act as Executive Director for Phoenix School of Ballet for several years. Elizabeth chose to relocate to Boston, where she worked with BackBay Dancewear, the biggest dance retail store in the greater Boston area, and quickly rose to manage the operation. She soon found a passion for fitting pointe shoes and studied the art of fitting for several years with the leaders in the pointe shoe manufacturing industry including Russian Pointe, Repetto, Freed, Bloch, Capezio, and Grishko. Elizabeth has now been fitting professionally for over two decades, and is the offical pointe shoe fitter for Brooksher Ballet. She is often sought out by students from across the country for her unique abilities to fit and custom tailor pointe shoes and her extensive knowledge of the pointe shoe market.
